Thanks for the advice, I've decided to wait a bit more so I have enough money for the 2i2 interface, because it will be more worth it in the long run and probably have less technical issues. It's the exact same thing (mic, cable, preamp, and headphones) but it has the scarlett 2i2 which is better quality than the presonus, and the included headphones and mic are really good too. You should consider Focusrite Scarlett studio. My tascam sits buried half the time, just using it to get audio into the PC, don't use the transport or faders anymore. It's easier to grab the mouse and move the fader on the screen. In reality, unless you are mixing 100 tracks and want a huge automated mixing board, you don't use it much. Headphone, box, Studio one software, mic and cable all in 1 package to replace my old Tascam USB Mixer. I'm considering the Presonus AudioBox studio. If it's crap at that stage, no plugins or anything else is going to help down the chain. They all have decent preamps in them, and that is the first thing the sound from the microphone hits. The M-audio's are decent, so is the Presonus stuff. The Focusrite preamps will blow away the Behringers, no doubt in my mind. Again, thank you for your time. The Behringer is cheap because it's cheap. Since my digital piano is an older model, it is difficult for me to seek guidance for my recording aspirations. You should make sure then that the inputs on your mixer / interface are panned hard left and hard right to get the best sound from the piano." However, I am uncertain as to whether they mean a set of dual TS cables (the connections would be mono with an RCA connection to the interface) such as the RCC-5-2R28, or two separate sets of a mono 1/4" with an RCA connector, but it appears that Roland does not make a single cable, so if this scenario requires the latter option, your recommended brands would be appreciated. I actually contacted Roland's customer support, and they responded, "we would normally recommend connecting output cables to both the right and left main outputs (TS), which will then connect to 2 inputs of your mixer or interface. The RD-100 has an unbalanced connection with R and L(Mono) outputs. To preface this, I am aiming to record the sound of my keyboard as opposed to MIDI. I have been faced with insurmountable confusion regarding what cable set to purchase in order to connect it to my interface. Hello, everyone! I registered for the forums for the sole purpose of asking this question, so any assistance would be thoroughly appreciated.
